Outsourcing your marketing – reasons to reach out for help from the experts

If you’re not an accountant, then I’m betting that you outsource this for your business. And the same goes for HR advice when you’re employing staff, am I right? So why is it that outsourcing your marketing isn’t always top of your agenda?

There are many more business outsourcing examples, such as web developing, health and safety advice, and admin support. And that’s great, because no one can be an expert in everything and recognising that your business needs help could be crucial to your business growth. But because we spend so much time on social media, I think a lot of business owners think they can do it themselves. So outsourcing to a marketing agency or consultant isn’t a priority.

Outsourcing advantages

Why outsource your marketing? Well for one thing, you’ll feel less overwhelmed and more organised. But also that a trained expert is doing their very best to promote your business in front of an audience that is open to hearing from you. So the question really should be why wouldn’t you outsource your marketing?

Identifying what to outsource

You may not feel you need help in all areas of your marketing, or you may feel completely swamped with the idea and haven’t a clue where to start. Here are some key areas that could be contracted out to a freelancer or agency:

Do you have a plan?

Marketing strategy
Having a plan or strategy in place can make your marketing feel far less overwhelming.

How do you decide what you’re going to do when it comes to your marketing? I bet social media is on there. But is that the right place to be promoting your business and what should you be doing to communicate with your audience. A marketing consultant (like me!) can create a strategy for you, so that you know the marketing your going to be doing is worthwhile.

Is your social media doing your head in?

Social media stress
Social media can feel overwhelming. A marketing agency or consultant keeps up with the trends so you don’t have to.

The fast-paced changes in digital marketing are hard to keep up with. One minute you think you should be posting images on Facebook, then next videos need to be created for TikTok, and reels on Instagram. Aaaaaaaarrrrrgggghhhh! It’s not easy to keep up with when you’re also trying to run a business. Consider outsourcing your social media marketing if your social media isn’t working for you or you just don’t get it!

Don’t know how to tackle email marketing

E-mail marketing
Email marketing can attract new and existing customers to make a purchase.

Do you think that email marketing is just filling inboxes with spam? Are you nervous about annoying people with your emails? Don’t worry, that’s a good place to be. But email marketing is so, so important. Because people on your database have said they want to hear from you. Yes, they’re interested in what you’re saying! Outsourcing email marketing can mean that there’s a steady flow of messaging going to your target audience, without being in their face.

Copywriting isn’t your thing

Copywriting
Thinking of subjects and content for blogging and copywriting can be made easier with a marketing consultant.

Does writing a blog fill you with dread? Or coming up with words for newsletters or even emails? And what about the subjects…can you think of any? Clever copywriting is an essential for websites, particularly when it comes informing your readers and for SEO (search engine optimisation). Outsourcing your marketing will see that blogs are written in a style to engage your audience, whilst showing the likes of Google that your website is ace and it should rank highly.

Website not converting

Conversion rate optimisation
A marketing consultant can help identify ways to improve your conversion rate.

If you have a super snazzy website, but your visitors leave before making a purchase or getting in touch about your services, then it’s probably time for the experts to have a look at it. A marketing consultant can look at your website through the eyes of your visitors and advise on improvements that can be made to turn visitors into customers, or conversion rate optimisation (CRO).
