The use of AI in marketing has been discussed over and over and is sometimes controversial. One thing’s for sure, if we don’t use the tools at our disposal, we’re likely to be left behind. In his presentation at Tubefest, Ian Anderson Gray talked about ‘Integrating AI In Video For Authentic Communication’. He gave us the lowdown on available AI tools for video creation, editing and repurposing content.
Video doesn’t have to be scary
If you’re in business, you’ll know that there is a need for video in your marketing. As clients and customers are consuming video far more that other types of content, businesses need to get ahead of the game. But it can feel scary! Believe me, I know. And if it’s live video, it’s even more terrifying!
Here are some reasons why you should be considering live video in your marketing strategy:
- You can show up consistently on social media channels
- You’ll have loads of content which you can repurpose
- It’s great for growing your audience and community
Wouldn’t it be great if we could produce video content that would help us to grow our confidence and overcome perfectionism?
So, if we can find a way to make the process easier, then that’s going to help, right? That’s where some of the best AI software can come in handy!
Before we get into AI tools for video creation…
There needs to be a process. Ian used his 5P’s for live video process:
- Planning
- Pre-promote
- Produce
- Post-promote
- re-Purpose
I’d encourage you to think about why you’re creating the video in the first place, who it is for, and what you want to achieve from it. Once you are clear on your reasons and goals, then you can start producing content.
Production AI tools for video creation
Firstly, Ian suggested using AI tools for video creation which have ISO recording. This means your video is recorded, whilst your guest video is recorded separately enabling screens to switch on playback.
He also encourages a tool which has local video recording. This means the video is saved to your computer, so should there be any internet or streaming issues when it’s live, on replay there won’t be any glitches.
Tools he recommends for this are Riverside, Ecamm Live, Restream and StreamYard.
AI tools for video repurposing
When you come to repurpose your videos you can create:
- blogs
- shorts or snippets to promote the video
- YouTube videos
- intros and outros
- social posts
- a podcast
and many more!
What AI tools can you use for repurposing content?
Ian says that Descript is great as it can:
- Transcribe videos
- Create an intro & outro
- Help you to create with the use of templates
- Overdub to make sure you’re making eye contact with the camera.
Here are a few more AI tools for video that Ian recommends:
ChatGPT – so that you can create a YouTube description of prompt. You can also upload a transcription of your video and ask it to create a series of social media posts. Personally, I’d use this with caution and make sure that the content that is produced sounds like you and has a purpose to it.
MacWhisper – quickly and easily transcribes audio and video into text.
Opusclip – this tool creates video clips from your longer video (and does much more!)
Trying out the tools
Creating video content is high on my marketing priorities for the future, so I’ll be trying out these AI tools for video creation and will let you know how I get on.
